stfuconservatives: ryking: In case anyone was wondering: Yes, we were able to turn Faux News’ poll into an accurate reflection of America’s views on the overturning of Proposition 8, with 65% vs. 30% saying the judge’s decision was right. And I don’t know what Tumblr’s deal is, but there should be an image in this post that isn’t showing up. Maybe it’ll reappear soon. I love how conservatives are always blabbering on about how, “the individual states have a right to govern themselves,” and that, “big national government policies are bad.” Then they just seem to forget all of that whenever states start passing laws they don’t agree with.

A different kind of Christian demonstration at Gay Pride

A group called the Marin Foundation demonstrated at Chicago’s gay pride parade this year, along with numerous other churches [including the infamous Westboro Baptist Assholes].  The Marin Foundation had a different idea than the others though.  The volunteers wore shirts that said simply “I’m Sorry.”  They were apologizing for all the hate and venom the LGBTQ community has faced in the name of Christianity.  Please please please read the article, I promise it will make your day.

It made mine, and gives me hope for the future.

Terms like marriage and what that means to you personally and spirtually is a matter for you and your religious organization to work out, not a matter for the government to be interpreting. I get the over all idea of the sign though and fully support it. You can’t call one marriage a marriage and one a civil union and consider them the same.
